I am going to keep this one short and sweet, and share with you what I have been listening to, reading, watching, etc during the year of 2023.
I'm not going to lie, this year I took quite a large step back in regard to personal development and resources. If you follow my social pages, you would have seen I moved overseas November 2022. The past year living abroad presented more challenges than I had originally anticipated, but nontheless its been a great one filled with opportunity, growth, and new experiences. Here is a short list of my fav podcasts and books from the year.
PODCASTS
On Purpose, Jay Shetty. This podcast never misses, I love Jays approach to life, career, and love and I find his work extremely helpful. My goal for 2024 is to live life with intention, so there will be a lot more hours invested in listening to this podcast.
Happy Hour With Lucy + Nikki: Two iconic Australian chicks who love to have a laugh and always leave me cackling. Such an easy listen and has honestly helped me so much when I felt homesick. It is also fun to listen to a bit of drama.
Diary of a CEO, Steven Bartlett. Steven's podcast is exceptional. He interviews some of the world's most influential people, experts, and thinkers and delves deep into their stories. I break his podcasts/ youtube videos down as they are quite lengthly.
The Skinny Confidential: The topics covered in this podcast are always of interest to me. I love anything health, wellness, and business so I recommend it if that sounds like you also.
BOOKS
Ikigai by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles. This book was a quick read and I found it to be thought provoking and engaging as it explores the Japanese secret to a long and healthy life. I am looking forward to reading it again and apply more of its principles into my day-to-day life.
Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself: How to lose your mind and create a new one by Dr Joe Dispenza. This one took me a while to get through as I'd always read before bed when I was tired, and I kept having to re-read the pages to ensure it made sense to me. It is the sort of book you don't just read once and then put it away, it is one to come keep coming back to.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck: A counterintuitive apprach to living a good life by Mark Manson. I have always been that person that gives "too many" f*cks, and I can't believe it took me this long to read this book. Its funny, all while challenging conventional wisdom and societal norms.
